About Our Events

Trees SC offers several educational programs throughout the year geared towards professionals and citizens interested in growing, protecting, and preserving our state’s urban and community forests.

DB-TRACE2

Professional Events

These programs target professionals in the green industry, including arborists, foresters, landscape architects, civil engineers, planners, horticulturists, and others in the green industry. In addition to our annual conference and South Carolina Arborist Workshops, which are full-day, multi-subject programs, we offer concentrated workshops that address specific topics. Examples of these workshop topics include nursery standards, electrical hazards, tree diversity, and climbing safety and techniques.

COMMUNITY

Community Events

Through our Canopy Sessions, we educate homeowners, civic clubs, and non-profits on tree-related issues. By working through a local partner, we develop a program to address a specific concern to the local community. Previous sessions focused on proper tree planting techniques (site prep, tree selection, and planting); right tree, right place; pruning; and writing tree ordinances.
